Understand Funnel Timing
Funnel measures elapsed time using matched records’ timestamps. Skipped activity is not a milestone, but the time spent between matched milestones is included.
Example:
| Milestone | Timestamp | Time since previous milestone | Time since funnel start |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product Viewed | 10:00 | 0 minutes | 0 minutes |
| Added to Cart | 10:03 | 3 minutes | 3 minutes |
| Payment Completed | 10:08 | 5 minutes | 8 minutes |
The completed funnel took 8 minutes. The longest transition was Added to Cart → Payment Completed, at 5 minutes.
Important Notes
- Timing uses timestamps in your data, not query execution time.
- For an incomplete occurrence, timing ends at the last matched milestone.
- Funnel currently measures duration but does not provide Duration Length or Duration Difference controls.
- Use Sequence Order Behavior when you need an ordered query with configurable timing controls.
