Read Funnel Results
Funnel results preserve matched milestone records for both complete and partial occurrences.
COMPLETED:The final milestone matched.
INCOMPLETE:The occurrence has not reached its final milestone. Intermediate milestone rows also carry this status, even when a later row completes the occurrence.
Read the whole occurrence before deciding its final outcome.
Owners Versus Occurrences
One EventOwner can complete several funnel occurrences.
Example: One customer completes checkout twice. That is two occurrences, but one unique EventOwner.
The Funnel visualization uses distinct EventOwners for milestone counts. A customer who reaches a milestone more than once is counted once at that milestone.
Conversion and Drop-Off
For complete input results, the visualization’s calculations are:
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Unique users at a step | Distinct EventOwners that reached that milestone. “Users” represents your configured EventOwner. |
| Overall conversion | Owners reaching this milestone ÷ owners reaching the first milestone. |
| Step conversion | Owners reaching this milestone ÷ owners reaching the previous milestone. |
| Drop-off count | Owners at the previous milestone minus owners at this milestone. |
Illustrative example:
| Milestone | Unique owners | Overall conversion | Drop-off from previous milestone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product Viewed | 100 | 100% | — |
| Added to Cart | 60 | 60% | 40 |
| Checkout Started | 40 | 40% | 20 |
| Payment Completed | 30 | 30% | 10 |
This describes progression among the owners who reached the first milestone, not every owner in the source tables.
Current results-view limitation:The Funnel visualization currently calculates these metrics from a fetch capped at 100 result rows. On larger results, displayed counts and rates can be incomplete. They should not be treated as full-query totals until this is fixed.
