Funnel
Read milestone progression, partial occurrences and conversion.
101. Do repeated first milestones restart a funnel?
No. Once A has matched in A → B → C, another A is skipped while the engine waits for B.
Timing remains anchored to the first accepted A. A new occurrence can start after the active funnel completes.
102. What if a later milestone happens too early?
It is skipped rather than saved for future use.
For A → B → C, A → C → B reaches B but remains incomplete until another C arrives afterward.
103. Can an owner complete a funnel several times?
Yes. A → B → C → A → B → C produces two complete occurrences for one owner.
Completed occurrence records are not reused for overlapping combinations.
104. Are funnel counts occurrences or distinct owners?
The Funnel visualization counts distinct EventOwners reaching each milestone. One owner reaching it twice counts once there.
Underlying results can contain multiple occurrences. Do not equate occurrence count with unique-owner count. Use Copy SQL when you need to inspect or validate totals from the underlying results.
105. Does funnel drop-off mean permanent abandonment?
No. It means the next milestone was not reached in the selected records.
The action might happen later, outside the date range, or exist in data not included in the query. Interpret drop-off within that observation scope.
106. Can a funnel span sessions or days?
Yes, if the owner identifier and selected range allow it. There is no automatic session reset or funnel timing filter in zinzu.
Use an appropriate Session ID or a narrower range if combining visits would answer the wrong question.
