Control the data made available

Use approved tables or views. Where needed, prepare views that limit the columns or records available for analysis before configuring them as Event Sources.

Manage who can use the application

Your Snowflake administrators control application access and the permissions granted to the installed app. Give users access appropriate to the sensitivity of the data they can inspect.

Protect results and shared outputs

Treat query results, copied SQL outputs, AI responses, and any files users download or share according to your organization's data-handling policies. User-directed exports should follow the same rules as other Snowflake data.

Review AI use separately

Confirm that Snowflake Cortex is approved for the data you intend to analyze. Review applicable AI settings and regional processing requirements before using Ask AI with sensitive information.

Compliance remains a shared responsibility

The in-account architecture supports your security and privacy controls. Meeting a particular regulatory or contractual requirement also depends on your data, Snowflake configuration, access permissions, and operating practices.
